Sparkies will meet at 6:25 in the Auditorium for the Opening Ceremony. They will follow their leader and begin their night which is broken up into 3 time periods.
1. Handbook time (Boys and Girls recite Bible verses to their leader).
2. Council time (large group teaching time, sometimes with guest speakers & puppets
3. Game time (all Sparks play organized games led by the games director)
The first book they will complete is an entrance brochure called "Flight 3:16". After completion of that they receive their red vest and handbook for the year! While listening to Bible memory work Sparkies are allowed 2 helps (usually just a word). If Sparkies can say their verse and give the reference without any helps they receive double points. Sparkies are given extra points if you parents sign off the verses they can say. Points = Awana bucks and are used at the Awana Carnival. Other ways to earn Awana bucks are wearing your vest, bringing your Bible and inviting a friend.
